We challenge ourselves through experiences to become people who embrace everything life throws at us

Scouting life is full of fun and adventure and we are sure you will have many wonderful experiences. Scouting is all about learning and personal development in a fun, challenging and supportive environment.

As a member of the Richmond Scout Group, you will make lots of new friends, learn some great skills and have experiences that will stay with you for life.

Richmond is an active and vibrant group. Reformed in 2016 after a hiatus of many years, the group has Scouting sections from Joeys to Venturers.

The scout year follows the school term structure. We run a fantastic and varied program in which we strive to realise our group goals:

  • Make more rounded humans of our little people.

  • Contribute to community wellbeing.

  • Scouting provides our youth members with opportunities to challenge themselves in safe and supportive environments. They are able to explore the world around them and further their social and emotional development.

  • To give young people the opportunity to socialise, get outdoors and have some fun outside the safety nets mum and dad and school provide. Scouting also provides an environment where young people can pursue multiple interests with support and free of judgement.

  • To provide diverse experiences and relationships which contribute to the development of resilient and well-rounded individuals.

  • To provide kids with exciting and engaging group and team based activities outside of a sporting environment. When practicable the activities take place outdoors and when possible they embrace and aim to serve the wider community. Also nice if the kids pick up a new skill or two along the way.

  • To encourage our kids to participate in non-competitive social interaction with a strong emphasis on outdoors, self reliance and good life skills development

  • I do Scouts as I strongly believe the above is good for my kids and their peers, and without volunteers it wouldn’t happen. The same principles are also good for me personally too, and its just good old fashioned fun.

  • To give Scouts opportunities to do things they normally wouldn’t get many chances to do.

Come and join the adventure!
